community catch-up

Broadband Affordability Program

The broadband affordability workgroup has ended. The two subworkgroups were diligent in looking at all options of expanding Lifeline as well as alternative funding in a quickly approaching future where landline services is no longer a viable revenue stream. It looks like the final legislative concept will include a one time $100 device purchasing credit for enrolled program users as well as an expansion to the funding in the Lifeline program to reach more Oregonions who were previously enrolled in the ACP. We’ll keep y’all posted as this moves through the legislative session!

NTIA Digital Equity Competitive Grant

The City of Portland submitted the final Oregon Urban Area Digital Divide Response Project on behalf of 15 different organizations with a final request of $21 million to fund our community’s digital equity projects. Suma wants to thank CODE for keeping community organizations informed through this process and for the City of Portland for taking the administrative lead on this huge opportunity to fund our communities! We should know if we have been awarded in December.
